STAGE 1
Stage one of the 2023 Tour de France is in the books and once again the surprises did not wait long to make an impact on this years race.
Enric Mas the team leader for Movistar fell on the decent into town and is now out of this years race a devastating blow for the Spanish squad, which will now have to look for stages as their hope of a podium seems to have vanished.
Richard Carapaz from Education first also fell on the decent but he was able to remount his bike and limp into town 16 minutes behind the leaders, His hopes of a podium also gone, will have to see if he is able to continue.
The two favorites Pogecar. And Vingeggaard came to the front of the peloton at the last climb of the day where they tested the rest of their opponents which they quickly dropped on the climb, it seems this years tour will be between these two I put my money on Pogacar but the favorite is Vingegaard.
The stage was decided between the Yates brothers with Simon winning stage one and becoming the first leader in this years edition.
