F1 CANADA - VERSTAPPEN AND RED BULL CEMENT VICTORY WHILE CHALLENGERS REGRET THEIR MISSED OPPORTUNITY

Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing celebrated  their victory at sundays  Canadian Grand Prix while Mercedes and Mclaren reminisced about what could have been.

The reigning world champion displayed all  of his skills to secure his 60th career victory in a very exciting, rain soaked track. 

Verstappen and Red Bull were able to snatch victory from their competitors while dealing with the rain, two safety cars, and a car they were not entirely happy with.

The dutchman started in second place and in the beginning struggled to find grip and  track speed, at one point losing his position to Lando Norris who at that moment had the fastest car on the track; but fate intervened in the form of Logan Sargent  who crash his car  leading to the days first safety car, and the first pivotal point of the race.

When the safety car was deployed Lando was flying down the straight away giving him no time to react and pit, this hesitation allowed Verstappen & Russel to pit before Norris causing him to drop from first to third. 

Red bull made all the right moves there after pitting at the key moments to avoid any issues, once the track started to dry up the Red Bull took off leaving the competition behind, Mercedes had the fastest laps at the end but it was to little too late as by than Max had a big lead and Norris in the way of the Mercedes chasers.

the remaining excitement was provided by Mercedes as Hamilton and Russel dueled for the last spot on the podium.

overall a very satisfying race to watch 8 out of 10 

Now it's on to Europe  for the Barcelona GP where the battle will be closer than ever as both Mclaren and Mercedes made gains on Red Bull, and will see if Ferrari can find the magic they had at Monaco.

on other news Checo Perez has a penalty for driving a dangerous car which Red Bull did to avoid another safety car......not so nice Christian..

any way overall a great race.

The gambling was so so hitting on Fernando Alonso being on the top 6 but missing on Ricardo joining the top 6.

also won on Verstappen to win and Alonso on getting points.

Glad to see Hamilton competing lets hope we see more of that in Barcelona ..hola Spain !!!
